The Fitzpatrick Hotel is located in lovely, downtown Washington, Georgia, between Athens and Augusta. The hotel is also conveniently located near historic Madison, and Greensboro, home of Reynolds Plantation. This fully-restored, historic hotel allows guests to experience luxurious accomodations reminiscent of another era, while providing all the modern amenities our guests have come to expect. The Fitzpatrick Hotel features 17 finely appointed guest rooms (with private baths), and conference & special event facilities.
The
Ballroom and Courtyard are ideal for wedding ceremonies, receptions, parties
and other special events. The space, along with our conference room, can
also be used to accomodate business meetings and retreats
The Fitzpatrick Hotel which is located on the Courthouse Square, was originally constructed in 1898 and served the thriving county seat of Wilkes County at a time when guests were brought into town from the depot by mule drawn trolleys. The hotel continued in operation until 1952, at which time the hotel and dining room were closed. After 50 years of neglect, the hotel was purchased by the Fitzpatrick LLC in 2002. An intensive restoration plan culminated with the re-opening of the grand hotel in June 2004.
Inside
and out, The Fitzpatrick Hotel today looks much like it did when it opened in all its grandeur at the turn of the last century. Many of the baths feature antique claw-foot tubs and the rooms are decorated with Victorian period furnishings. The amenities it now offers include DSL internet service, satellite TV in each room, and breakfast served each morning. When it was built, The Fitzpatrick Hotel was the centerpiece of a resurgent downtown area. Today it once again holds court over a rejuvenated town square.
We would love for you to be our guest at The Fitzpatrick Hotel. Reservations can be made by phone or on-line.
"Thank you for making my group feel so welcome. Please tell the entire staff how much we enjoyed our stay… the whole experience was a delight from beginning to end."
